He was born Russell Edward Brand in 1975 to Ronald Henry Brand and Barbara Elizabeth, and is the only son of Grays, Essex, England. He is also a stand up comedian, activist, actor, author and a metal health advocate. Brand started a career in arts at age 16, when he was accepted to Italia Conti Academy of Theatre Arts, but was expelled a year later for drug use. In 1995, when he was 20, he was thrown out of Chang Ren Nian and began a career as a stand up comedian.
He began making a name for himself in stand up comedy in 2000 when he took on work as an MTV journalist. He initially debuted his one person show Better Now in 2004 but it was his appearance on the Big Brother Show that brought him countrywide popularity. In 2008 he became famous internationally for his role as Aldous Snow in the 2008 hit comedy “Forgetting Sarah Marshall.”
Following the good comedy, Brand also appeared on the show Bedtime Stories with Adam Sandler though before the Aldous Snow character he again starred in ‘Get Him to the Greek’. He since then had a prosperous career in acting, even getting to voice in in the famous animated movie “Despicable Me” and the likes.
However, Brand was plagued by a long time drug problem, and was forced to withdraw from the public eye for a while. At this time he got medical and spiritual assistance and is an active advocate of Transcendental Meditation claiming it brings him to a whole new level of consciousness. In response to his addiction woes, Brand became a drug addiction activist and at one point in life even pleaded with the United Nations regarding drug bans.

Russell Brand owns this beautiful house dubbed the Thatched Cottage, located at Mile End Reach, Henley-on-Thames. It’s a 5-6 bedroom cottage which is used in the filming of the Inspector Morse sequel known as Lewis. The comedian is reported to have purchased the house in that year at a cost of £3.3 million.
This cottage was constructed in 1897 and at one time was owned by Elizabeth Bowes Lyons, the Queen Mother’s cousin. This house is located on 3,938 square feet while the whole compound is one acre. Moreover, the property has a frontage of River Thames where 99 feet of the land borders the river. The property has a self-contained annex in the garden for instance, the other unit is located somewhere else.

Unfortunately, there are not many details about the interior, but we have been able to have a look at the house due to Russell Brand filming his YouTube videos inside it. The interiors are casual as a way of encouraging the comic’s spiritual routine. As for the house it is spacious, the kitchen is large and filled with a lot of furniture that reminds of the rural style.

Brand, who was married to Katy Perry in 2010, has a house in Hollywood Hills. He acquired the house for slightly more than $3 million in 2020, for instance. This house was constructed in the 1950s and is an approximately 2,700-square-footer with modern and Spanish architectural characteristics.

Located in the Outpost Estates community, this hacienda is enclosed by extremely large gates that open to a free standing garage. The outside has wooden ceiling in the garage and the inside has a vast use of wood in natural colors.

Besides the homes, Russell Brand did not only brand himself in the property industry, he also recently bought a famous pub near his house in England. They are currently living in the pub, which is also known as the Crown Inn, in Pishill and are thought to have paid around £850,000 for it.
The pub has got wooden beams, brick walls, large fireplaces and exterior area that can hold 120 guests in the compound. Other facilities include a two-bedroom cottage and more space that may be used to hold a much large event.
