While bathroom faucets are standard fixtures in any kitchen and bathroom, you need to know the different features specific brands offer. If you have a bathroom remodeling project on the horizon, we will help you understand the best bathroom faucet brands to buy from, their best bathroom faucets, and a little history of the faucets to get you started.

How Far Have bathroom Faucets Come in History?

Since the early empires, there has been faucets in the kitchen and bathroom of every household with running water. Similarly the evolution of the faucets has been directly linked and synchronised with designs and functions of pipes and systems. Faucets are the working taps of your bathroom and kitchen supplies systems, and yes they must be critical in your remodeling strategy.

Faucets have been around since 1700 BC and where identified in the Minoan Palace of Knossos in Crete. The ancient kingdom developed the use of terracotta pipes together with gilded gold, marble and silver faucets. These faucets were further used by the Romans; the lead pipes were in use between the time of 1000 BC and 476 AD. These faucets had cartridges that required many turns before water came through, and, as it may be expected, these did not protect the washers.

Fortunately in 1913 the Quaturn Cartridge, which only needed a quarter turn_ was invented by Albert Brown. In the case of the cartridge the washers in the faucets received reduced pressure and as such they extended the lifespan of the faucets. Also, the bathroom fixtures, as you find in some models today had two handles to it. One of the handle would produce cold water and the other produce hot water.

Between 1940 and 1945, Al Moen started to develop the single-handled faucet. It is documented that he tried to turn on a hot bathroom tap, and in the process he scarred his hand. This invention arose after he was determined to find ways of producing a mixes both hot and cold water to an acceptable temperature. Despite addressing that, Moen’s design was soon to encounter critique and refusal, in 1952 Landis Perry came up with a ball valve design faucet that encouraged ending superior water flow control making Al Moen’s design work better.

These ball valve bathroom faucets used effect rubber seals but they were characteristic of early signs of corrosion and other elements. As time went on, inventors developed ceramic disks that tread better than rubber seals while, at the same time, retaining the water’s purity.

Until now all bathroom faucets were incorporating the Quaturn cartridges that retained washers and off course protracting the life of the faucets. However, this was not to last for long and when Alex Manoogian came up with the washerless ball valve faucet. This invention was named the Delta Faucet and outgrew to become a company that has developed other inventions that Revolutionized the bathroom faucet.

With clever inventions, such as the introduction of the electronic and touch faucets as well as other additional features as filters, and different size spouts have made us have the best collection of bathroom faucets to select from. However, it is not an easy task to compare these faucets, as most of them belong to various competing brands when making the best faucets decision.

Factors to Consider When Deciding Your Best Bathroom Faucet Brands

a) Your sinks

What type of sink do you have? Whether you have a new one or renovating existing ones, architectural design can be rather challenging. These are questions that anyone would need to have answers before purchasing a faucet. Each kind of the faucet design corresponds to a specific kind of the sink. For instance, it is advisable to get the vessel faucets especially when the vessel sink is a preferred type of sink. Its uses makes it suitable for traditional or standard sinks In contrast, widespread, single hole, centerset and mounted faucets are ideal.

b) Installation

Your faucet should not require a lot of your effort and or a plumber to install. As such, make sure it has an installation guide and that you know all the features of the product as well as the style of the sink. It has been long understood that the pop-up drain is the hardest to install and, therefore, the instructions have to be clear.

Unfortunately, faucets differ in style which means you have to ensure the brand you go for manufactures products that will fit your sink. For example, if you have purchased a single-hole faucet but have three holes on your sink counter, check that the manufacturer provides a deck plate to hide the additional holes.

c) Faucet finish

Being the jewel crowns in your bathroom you will require products that harmonize with the bathroom look. As a result, choose the best bathroom faucet brands that offer the best finishes, including;

  • chrome finish
  • matte finish
  • brushed nickel finish
  • oil-rubbed bronze finish

Even though all finishes are perfect for the use in your interior, those that are brushed nickel are the easiest to clean because they do not attract fingerprints and oil stains. Chrome finishes are also good, but you will realize they don’t offer the same kind of finishes as they require more attention to remove stains of water and oil.

d) Construction

Consider how durable your bathroom faucets are. In following these tips, it is most pertinent to pay attention to the metal used. It should not be made from any alloy that contains lead or nickel so as to provide you with the best health. Besides, the faucets should conform and go further the recommendation of the ADA, WaterSense, and CAl Green when it comes to safety.

Any other bathroom faucet reviews, you may have read through will reveal to you that your water flow has to be regulated. Not only does this feature save water, but we also ensure safety and comfort by pressing a button. When estimating the handle and spout, don’t look for an ornate spout which shoots out aerated water. Carbonated water is created using the addition of bubbles this is why it is not aggressive and does not splash all over the sink.

The other important factor you ought to consider when purchasing this new faucet is the flow rate. The Federal Energy Management Act of 1992 requires that any domestic faucet must have a flow rate of not more than 2.5 gallons per minute. All but a few of the brands in this review conform to this act and some others possess a flow rate of 1.2 gallons per minute.

e) Other features

The best bathroom faucet brands understand your personal preferences. Hence, they will incorporate faucet trends which are current concerning the ergonomic design for its optimum usability. This is what we believe makes up a good brand;

  1. Sanitization. Some brands install an ozone-activated antibacterial water stream each time you turn on the faucet. It can eliminate effectively 99% of germs, so probably this washer is handy for the sink that is accessible to the entire family.
  2. Touchless technology also ensures the adopted concepts are hygienically the best.
